History
Since 1978, In Bihar Police, cadre of Constable has been a district cadre and recruitment of constables for District Police and Bihar Military Police (now Bihar Special Armed Police) was being done by the Regional Boards. These boards were headed by an officer of the rank of Superintendent of Police, nominated by the Director General of Police, Bihar. Bihar Government vide Home Department (Police Branch) notification number 6843/03 dated 11.08.2008 amended the Bihar Police Manual, 1978 and Central Selection Board of Constable (popularly known as CSBC) was constituted for recruitment of constables and equivalent ranks in Bihar Police and other uniformed services of State. The district cadre of Constable was converted into centralised cadre whose roster is to be maintained by the Police Headquarter and approved by the Home department. Shri Sunit Kumar, IPS was the first Chairperson of the Board. Since then, following officers have been posted as Chairperson of the Board:
